The WVU Cancer Institute is a place of hope – a place where the state’s top doctors and researchers come together to provide compassionate, high-quality care for a brighter tomorrow.
Why We Care: At the WVU Cancer Institute, we acknowledge the fear and complexity of cancer, and feel that all people deserve the best treatment available from high-level teams of dedicated professionals. Through a culture of service, respect, inclusivity, and accountability, we are committed to lead the way to better health and wellness with cancer prevention, treatment, and research. That’s our mission – it’s at the core of everything we do.
How We Care: We offer high-quality care coupled with down-to-earth sensibilities that prioritize the patient and their family. Because each patient’s case is different, we have made a tremendous investment in our medical and professional staff in order to provide greater access to specialists treating specific kinds of cancers.
As part of an academic medical center, we have created an environment that brings our clinicians and scientists together to find the best outcomes for our patients. We have opened new locations and joined with trusted hometown medical centers throughout West Virginia and the surrounding region to provide better care, closer to where our patients live – and there are more additions on the horizon. Along with the clinical growth, we are excited to expand our screening services, educational opportunities, and community partnerships to as many people as possible.
Who We Are: The WVU Cancer Institute is a regional network of care centers offering access to highly advanced experts and technologies close to home, allowing for better outcomes.
The flagship location, the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center in Morgantown, West Virginia, boasts the state’s largest group of specialized programs, such as multidisciplinary teams, psycho-oncology, oncologic physical therapists, and unique programs, including the only Gamma Knife (stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors), transplant and cellular therapy (TCT), and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) programs. Patients and families receive support from nurses, dietitians, social workers, and financial counselors, ensuring that everyone who seeks us out for diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up has access to the latest advancements and innovations in cancer care.
Our providers and staff support the American Medical Association nondiscrimination policy, in that: This office appreciates the diversity of human beings and does not discriminate based on race, age, religion, ability, marital status, sexual orientation, sex, or gender identity.
We are an inclusive community, committed to diversity, equity, and belonging in our policies, procedures, and interactions with patients, caregivers, staff, trainees, and faculty.
