Let’s talk about the best halal burgers in London today, since getting a delicious smashed halal burger is probably one of the best treat foods you can get when roaming the city .

I’ve written so much about the best halal restaurants in London that I’m starting to lose track between halal sushi, halal brunch, and other halal Korean foods.

But the thing is, melty cheese blending with homemade sauces, a chewy bun, and a juicy patty tug at my heart every time around.

A good halal burger is an art, period.

And the secret ingredient would be love for the product and the customer’s stomach in each of the halal restaurants in London I’ll mention here today.

Of course, many more people look for the best halal places to eat in Central London.

I’ll also talk about quite a few halal burgers in London located around Leicester Square, Carnaby Street, and Piccadilly Circus today.

So no cafes to work in London today.

We’ll be focusing on the best halal burger spots in London.

Those that offer the most delicious patties, crunchy chips, and where possible, a great seating area where you can just chill while eating stunning junk food made gourmet…

Let’s go!

15 Best Halal Burgers in London – Halal Street Food London

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (2)

Just a little disclaimer though, before we get started: as much as possible, I will write the status of the restaurants I mention here in terms of halal burgers.

If some are HMC halal restaurants, I will mention it.

However, it is always possible that some restaurants change their suppliers without notice.

As such, I would always recommend double-checking before booking or walking in, if they still offer halal burgers and other burritos or fried chicken.

For now, we’re going to be talking about the best halal burgers in London, gooey, smashed burgers filled with juicy meat and melty cheese, with crunchy veggies and an unbeatable atmosphere and service.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Proper Burgers

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (3)

Proper Burgers definitely belongs at the top of this list, especially if you’re looking for gourmet halal burgers in London smashed with the finest ingredients.

If you’re after fancy halal restaurants, that’s not it, but Proper Burgers still makes for a great lowkey date spot.

With several locations around London, Proper Burgers cooks up juicy beef patties and homemade sides that’ll keep you on the toes for more.

If you’re ever on the lookout for halal restaurants in East London, their Leytonstone joint is the most famous of all.

Now that I’m living in North London near North Finchley, I don’t have the occasion to go all the way East every day of the week.

However, to grab a taste of the best halal burgers in London, I’d definitely take the trip over and over again.

Pro-tip; if someone in the party is vegan, Proper Burgers has some incredible vegan burgers rotating from time to time.

And get a side of rosemary chips with your burger – you won’t be disappointed!

However, I understand that Leyton might be a bit too far for lots of us, especially if you’re staying in a hostel at the moment (which, from my experience, is likely to be in Central London).

So, you’ll be happy to know that the fully halal Proper Burgers brand has a halal restaurant in East London near Brick Lane as well.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Siirgista Bros

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (4)

I used to live in North Finchley, and the High Road next to the North Finchley Bus Station has some great restaurants that offer anything from great Greek food to delicious kebabs.

And there, if you’re looking for the best halal burgers in London, you’d do well to stop by the amazing Siirgista Bros.

If you’re new here, you might not know I’m from France and lived in Paris for four years before moving to London.

At that time, I was already looking for halal places to eat in Central London, East, and occasionally North London that I’d visit whenever I’d fancy a trip to Muswell Hill or Highgate, two areas I’m in love with.

And there, in Paris, I got used to the freshest gourmet burgers.

And that’s definitely my favorite type, whether we’re talking halal burger or not: crunchy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, gooey cheese that melts right off the bun…

Siirgista Bros is big on freshness, and with just a few locations in London, the menus are kept tight and the ingredients, are of premium quality.

I love myself some soft and chewy buns, and I’d even go as far as stating that’s the first thing I look for.

Sauces, sides, patties – all juicy and fresh, all crispy and mouthwatering. Siirgista Bros simply competes with the top halal restaurants in London.

By the way, if you’re a book aficionado and have already checked out my guide to the best second hand bookshops in London, you’ll want to pay a visit to the many charity shops on the High Road, where you can get great used books for downtime or academics.

Best Halal Places To Eat in London: Stax Diner

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (5)

Now for the biggest and most decadent halal burgers in London, we have a great spot in Kingly Court, right off Carnaby Street.

Stax Diner is one of the most famous halal burger places in Central London, and it’s easy to understand why.

With an unsettling background built on old-school, Afro-American culture, it’s definitely an ode to both fun and great food.

It’s become pretty easy to find halal food in Soho, and in Central London around Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus over the past few years.

And Stax Diner is, by definition, the perfect destination for any digital nomad looking for the best halal burgers in London for the first time .

Stax Diner has limited seating space, but a hearty menu filled with decadent recipes.

We’re talking buttermilk halal chicken burgers, 28-day dry-aged beef patties, and the craziest stacked burgers.

Everything on the menu melts in the mouth, if not for the crispiest version of halal fried chicken and waffles I’ve ever been given to try.

If you’re new to the city and after a halal breakfast in London at some point, you might want to try one of their American-themed breakies.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Band of Burgers

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (6)

Band of Burgers is that great little halal restaurant in East London located right on Brick Lane, one of the most colorful streets in London.

Filled with tiny restaurants and countless vintage shops, it’s understandable why a student or digital nomad freelancing in London would like to spend their days working or studying around Shoreditch.

Band of Burgers is one of those joints that believe in using aged beef for their patties.

As such, we find the best halal burgers in London crafted from 35-day-aged halal Angus and halal Wagyu beef – grass-fed.

Throughout all their branches in London – including Walthamstow and Camden (some of the best halal restaurants in London are located in Camden!), the ingredients selected are fine and prime.

By the way, if at some point you’re looking for a great halal sushi place, Band of Burgers hosts on their premises the amazing Sushi Bar.

You have to try their delicious halal Japanese food to spend a great moment with your other half or your friends after working in cafes – word.

Best Halal Burger in London: Burger UK

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (7)

There’s no halal Burger King in London, but I guess the closest and actually better option for you – if that’s what you’re looking for – is Burger UK.

There’s something about this halal restaurant in Camden that will keep you coming back for more.

First of all, if you’re looking for a laid-back place to have a romantic yet lowkey date, then that’s an address to consider.

There are countless spots to get great halal burgers in London, but this tops it all.

At Burger UK, you can get some huge beef burgers, or choose to go loco with halal fried chicken burgers.

There’s something about fried chicken that gets me crazy.

I love me some fried food from time to time, and if you couple their wings with homemade fries, you’ve got a winning deal.

I’ll definitely write a guide to the best halal fried chicken places in London at some point soon.

For the time being, just know their burgers and chicken wings are amazing – it’s easy to get lost in the menu when trying to decide on something, though: everything looks delicious.

If you’re ever working at a cafe like the Coffee Tree on Camden High Street, it’s well worth the short walk to Burger UK for your end-of-day treat.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Burgeri

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (8)

For some of the best halal burgers in Central London, I’ve mentioned earlier Stax Diner on Carnaby Street, but you also have a great burger place right off Carnaby: Burgeri.

For those mushy, chewy, gooey buns and drooling beef patties, that’s definitely one of the best halal restaurants in London around Leicester Square, Piccadilly, and Oxford Circus.

One of the trickiest meats to get as a Muslim in London restaurants was for the longest time halal Wagyu beef.

Just know that Burgeri has some of the finest, coupled with fresh, homemade sauces and buns that will make the difference.

This is a spot to visit whether you’ve been working in the closeby Foyles Cafe (one of the best bookshop cafes in London for freelancers and students) or roaming the city, trying to take it all in.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Holy Smokes BBQ

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (9)

If you live around Mile End, Bethnal Green, Bow Church, or Stratford, then very close, you have one of the best halal restaurants in East London.

Holy Smokes BBQ is located in Bow, and its recipes are halfway between the family dinner out and the laidback date.

Interestingly, you can get a different version of the usual beef patty, with barbecue brisket beef which gives a certain depth to the patty.

Sides topped with gooey cheese, and amazing entrées such as halal ribs complete Holy Smokes BBQ’s special burger recipes.

Try their jerk-loaded fries if you’re a fan of Caribbean notes in your food – they’re really, really good.

Halal ribs are not the easiest thing to find when you’re after halal food, even in East London, and I always make sure to get some ribs when I come across a place that cooks ’em up good.

Come for the best halal burgers in London, and leave full of delicious bites.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Patty & Bun

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (10)

For the longest time, I didn’t know that Patty & Bun offers some of the best halal burgers in London.

Actually, I thought they were not halal at all.

That is, until I looked up the website one day, only to find that chicken and lamb are halal across all of their branches, with halal beef available at the James Street restaurants – and more places to come in Central London.

For instance, if you’re ever looking for a halal burger in London Bridge, then you’ll have plenty of choices on the menu since the lamb and chicken are halal there.

I am mentioning London Bridge because that’s the first time I came across a Patty & Bun.

Plus, I am used to working in cafes and free coworking spaces near London Bridge pretty often.

So that’s a pretty sweet reward at the end of the work day if you’re studying, say, at the Southbank Centre or the Tate Modern and whipping up a call-it-a-day situation at Patty & Bun.

Patty & Bun clearly is one of the best halal burger places in London, with a great diner-type atmosphere and interesting recipes.

Nothing they cook is like another restaurant anywhere in London, even though they have some groundbreaking basics up there on the menu.

Juicy and tender, smoky and sweet notes, their burgers are a tasty cry out to our stomachs.

Best Halal Places To Eat in London: FatBoyz Diner

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (11)

FatBoyz Diner is one of my absolute favorites in this guide and definitely cooks up the best halal burgers in London.

Located in Forest Gate, they’re just a bit off Central London.

Hop on the Tube or the bus for a few stations East, and you’re onto some of the best halal burgers you’ve ever eaten.

The story is simple: three friends traveled across the USA, fell in love with the burger culture, and crafted their own delicious, American-inspired recipes.

Translated into delicious halal burgers, the recipes will make you travel miles and miles away from London.

The atmosphere at FatBoyz Diner is really laid back, and the mix of fresh ingredients enhances the experience of eating just a simple burger

I’d recommend the Premium burger (pictured above), with its beautiful, fun presentation and gooey cheese dripping down a juicy double beef patty.

Hands down one of the best halal places to eat in London whether you’re looking for a romantic date setting or a family outing.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Nanny Bills

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (12)

Nanny Bills has kept the street food vibe since its establishment in 2015.

Grown in a full chain from food truck beginnings, Nanny Bills offers both halal chicken and beef throughout all their locations.

If you’re looking for a halal burger in London Bridge, you should definitely visit the branch in Vinegar Yard.

That’s one of the coolest street food spots in Central London, located on St Thomas Street, just a few steps away from The Shard.

Plus, if you’re studying in one of the free coworking spaces in London I mentioned in another guide, like the BFI Reuben Library or the John Harvard Library, you’ll be close to Vinegar Yard for lunch/dinner.

Please note alcohol and pork are both served at Nanny Bills, but cross-contamination is taken very seriously.

All the more reason to indulge in the handmade beef patties, juicy, big, and definitely decadent.

If you’re after a halal fried chicken burger, that’s also one of the burger places you should look into.

One of the most interesting things to order are the croquettes; mini mac and cheese balls, and brisket balls that, once fried, give out all the flavor of beautifully fresh ingredients.

Delicious, and really a different addition to the London halal street food scene.

Best Halal Burger Places To Eat in London: Cristina’s

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (13)

Cristina’s Steak is one of the most underrated halal places to eat in London.

It’s easy to get caught up in the Central London whirlwind of food stands and shops, but if you’d stray away from Central for just one lunch/dinner, you’ll be happy you’ve traveled to Barking.

I always try to write about halal places to eat in Central London when it comes to general type-of-cuisine guides, but this is well worth the visit.

Cristina’s Steak definitely ranks among the best halal restaurants in East London, and it is the perfect spot to visit with your other half, your friends, or your family.

It’s a cute restaurant, to be fair, and it looks old school, wooden, rustic, and beautiful.

The most delicious option always being the simplest, in my opinion, I’d recommend Cristina’s Smashed Burger.

My favorite type of burger will always remain one where you have tomato, pickles, cheese, lettuce, onion, and a deliciously aged patty.

And at Cristina’s, the Smashed Burger ticks pretty much all the boxes, while offering a great dinner to the tightest budgets.

A great halal fried chicken burger is also up for grabs for greedy chicken lovers at this East London joint.

In terms of halal, please note Cristina’s serves only halal food (certificates available upon request) but does serve alcohol as well – always good to know if that is a priority of yours when eating out.

Best Halal Burgers in London: Baba G’s Camden

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (14)

Ah now, if you love street food and you’re roaming Camden Town in search of the best halal burgers in the city, let me tempt you to a great find of mine.

Baba G’s (or Bhangra Burgers) is located in Broadgate Circle, a hot spot for all things street food.

Baba G’s is also available at Kerb Camden too, if you’re ever looking for a halal burger in Camden Town.

And when you are in North London and onto halal food in Camden, Kerb Camden is where you need to be.

Lots of the stands there cater to Muslim patrons, and some even advertise it straight onto their stand.

Baba G’s has this interesting take on burgers that diffuse delicious Indian spices into juicy patties.

Everything blends so well together, that it’s easy to forget about the sides when you’re munching down what can be described hands down as the best halal burgers in London.

Choose either the lamb burger or the chicken tikka and you’re onto the best lunch of your life.

Best Halal Burgers in London: KFC London Halal Spots

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (15)

Now for another interesting addition to this guide – some branches of KFC London are halal nowadays.

So if you’re looking for the best halal burgers in London, I would definitely recommend the Tower Fillet Burger.

That’s one big stack of every delicious ingredient I could think of, from crispy halal fried chicken to perfectly-fried hash brown and a thoughtfully put-together sauce.

I was only going to talk about homemade, small-shop halal burgers, but it’s fun to know that you have some chain halal places to eat near Central London when you feel like it.

If you’re a digital nomad living in a hostel, sometimes, all you want is to order a big ole burger from that chain fast food you know and love from back home.

If you’re after some branches of KFC in London with halal burgers, here are some locations where you can get them: Tottenham Court Road, Bishopsgate, King’s Cross, and Camden are some of them.

Best Halal Burger in London: Burgrill

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (16)

Although I’ve recently moved from North Finchley to Tottenham, another famous spot in North London, there’s one halal burger place in London I miss, and that’s Burgrill.

This chain of restaurants offers HMC halal burgers in London that range from the stunning pulled beef burger to Piri Piri chicken, beautiful gourmet burgers, a vegetarian range with halloumi and a veggie patty, and even halal burritos.

Burgrill is too underrated in my opinion, especially if you’re looking for the best halal burgers in London.

Great decor and a warm atmosphere at Burgrill, which has branches near all the charity shops in North Finchley, Clapton, and Forest Gate.

Just a simple and beautiful chain of restaurants that offer the best halal burger in London if you’re looking for gourmet, and incredible pulled beef burgers.

Best Halal Burger in London: Bintang

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (17)

I’ve mentioned Bintang quite a number of times on The Working Line; namely, it offers some of the best halal Thai food in London.

While it is a Filipino restaurant at its core, you’ll find on the Bintang menu some Pan Asian bits and bobs perfect whether you’re looking for a halal brunch or delicious halal burgers in London.

The Pansedal sliders that Bintang offers to hungry Londoners on the quest for the best halal burger in London are at the crossroads of Asian and American cultures.

Toyomansi onions, American cheese, and smashed short-rib patties make for a huge and decadent burger.

And since Bintang is a completely halal restaurant in Kentish Town, you have a stunning halal burger to accompany any type of fried chicken, katsu curry, and roti you might wish for.

Probably one of the most underrated restaurants for delicious halal burgers in London, just a stone’s throw away from the best charity shops in Kentish Town.

15 Best Halal Burgers in London – Halal Street Food London

15 Best Halal Burgers in London - Halal Street Food London (18)

There you have them, the best spots for halal burgers in London!

I’ve listed only the top halal restaurants in London for this one, so you’re sure that the meat you’re eating is not only halal but incredibly delicious.

I’m always after juicy steaks – which is why I’ve written my first halal guide about the best halal steak houses in London, but I also want to find the best sides too.

After all, eating at a burger place is nothing if the experience is not complete.

Hopefully, you’ll have found the best halal places to eat in Central London, East London, and North London.

Later on, I will write a guide to the best halal restaurants around Knightsbridge, Mayfair, Chelsea – all of West London, really.

But in my experience, the best halal burgers in London can be found in the East, just because the Muslim community is bigger there.

But if you’re looking for a chain burger, then some KFC in London are halal, and you can definitely order a delicious Tower Fillet Burger there (my favorite burger in the whole wide world, seemingly).

Until next time!
